Okay plot, but very stereotypical gypsy characters

I like it, mostly, but I'm having a hard time finishing this book; this is odd considering I've read and finished all his other books in just a few days. I've been working on this for months. I think what's getting to me is that he makes a lot of the same sweeping generalizations about straight people that drive him so up the wall when the other side does it about gay people. I guess extremist views, even if they're there to make a point, just rub me the wrong way. I'll finish it eventually, but it's not as endearing as The Kid.

Pretty scary stuff about the amount of money the federal government is giving in no-bid contracts to defense companies in Iraq. They provide mercenaries, literally, to defend US interests in Iraq and Afghanistan and are not subject to USMCJ or international laws.
