I will admit, for all the Lost fans out there, I was a bit apprehensive about this book and title. The cover picture is just a little too close to "the Shack" on the island where Jacob is. But that is just my thoughts. So about this book. I loved it! I will not tell about it, you just need to read it. This was our bookgroup pick and can not wait for the discussion. This will be a book that I could read a month from now and find a whole set of new things in it.

A sweet book--I like the book lists she compiles at the end. It always interests me to see what writers are reading.

This is an excellent debut novel from Karin Slaughter. The plot moves along quickly and the characters are interesting, if a bit cliched in parts. Rape is a prominent theme here, but it is handled gracefully. The violence is extremely graphic, but I didn't find it gratuitous- it fits in with the story. This is the start of a series and I look forward to catching up with the characters.
