I don't think I've ever read a book yet that has caused so much emotion to stir inside me like this one did. I fell in love with their characters and their determination to stay alive even when they were viewed as little more than recyclable trash in the eyes of the world they lived in. The themes are deep and make you think, not like other young adult books. Pro-life or pro-choice it doesn't matter, this book will still give you a new way to see things. It is well written, organized and easy to understand. The characters are not black and white or shallow. I hope you take my review to heart and give this book and Neal Shusterman a chance because I believe you won't regret it. Maybe like me you'll stay up all night reading and then wondering what can we do to avoid creating a society like the one in the book in the near future. Because the way things are going, it is not that unimaginable.

Before I was half through this I bought These Old Shades, which comes first in the Alastairs. Devil's Cub is my 2nd Heyer, and like the first, I wanted to re-read when I was done. It's been a long time since I finished a book and wanted to go back to enjoy it all over again, but Heyer is one of those. She does so many things so well, it's just beautiful to appreciate.

I was given this book by a dear friend. I re read it every year, especially when I find that I am taking life too seriously or being too sensitive to other people actions. I have given it as a gift to many people. It's provides insight on how to simplify and manage what we see as out chaotic lives. The agreements are very simple.
