Can you believe a book called Of Mice and Men has a lot of violence in it? Well it has a lot of violence, which makes the story better. Somebody gets shot in the book. This book has great characters, who do things that make the story better. Language in Of Mice and Men will make you enjoy it more especially with all the idioms. Violence occurs in almost every chapter of the book. Nearly everything violent in this book involved Lennie. A fight happened between Lennie and Curly. Lennie broke Curly's hand. Numerous dogs got drowned when Slim drowned four of his dogs. Animals and people got shot in Of Mice and Men. Candy's dog got shot by Slim and George shot Lennie. The only girl in the book got killed when Lennie strangled her to death. Characters in the book improve the story a lot. One character has a habit of forgetting a lot of things. Lennie forgot where george and him had to go and where to go if he got in trouble. Certain person in the book likes to break rules. Curly's wife talked to Lennie and Slim even though Curly said she can not talk to other people but him. Two characters discuss their problems with Lennie. Crooks and Curly's wife talk about the things they can't do and the problems in their lives. Many characters want what they can't have. When eating beans Lennie wants ketchup but they don't have any. Language that characters use really improved the story. Idioms get used a lot. George says if he did not have Lennie "why, I could stay in a cat house all night". One character in this book does not have a name. In the entire book Curly's wife does not have a name. Some of the men on the ranch give Curly's wife names. She get referred as a tart, whore, rat trap, bitch. The stable buck has a crooked back and everybody calls him Crooks. Of Mice and Men has good characters that do things that improve the story. Mainly two characters keep mentioning their goals. Violence occurs a lot in this book. Murder happens to two people and some animals. Language used by the characters adds to the story. Idioms get used very often by the characters.

David, I've not read the Wee Little Free Men yet, but I'm giving this fellow a try anyway. Let me know if this book is on the list of his that you've not yet read.
