just b/c we love someone doesn't mean that they feel that love. We each have ways that we prefer to be shown that we are loved or take certain things to mean that someone loves us. If someone doesn't know this preference, you can feel unloved b/c those needs are not being filled. I did not agree w/ all of the philosophy of the book (religious based) but liked the concept of the love languages and helps me as a parent to be sure to show my love to my children in all 5 ways until I know which one speaks to each of them individually.

This is absolutely one of the most delightful fantasies ever written. The use of the epistolary format, the homages to Austen and Heyer, with the magical spin on Regency England is worth several reads, at least. I'm so grateful they issued another edition, since originally I had to track down the book and pay a handsome fee for my copy. Brava, ladies! More!
