Unlike all the other non-fiction books i have read, i learned a lot from this book.
This was a cute little turn of the century feminista novel for the middle school set, recommended by my awesome aunt Andrea and uncle Andy :) Anyways, it was very good. Many morals of the story, which was fantastic cause I haven’t read anything with morals of the story in a while. The importance of family, but the more important idea of living out your dreams no matter what. I really liked how Calpurnia navigated both the 19th century southern ideas and was able to enjoy her passion of naturalism fully. Anyways, anytime there’s a girl who follows her dreams in the face of adversity, I’m down. Even if it’s a child’s book. It was great.
