I felt like the author stayed mainly on the surface of the topic. The choice of the title is interesting, as the story was told from the point of view of Bethia, and not Caleb - and there's a lack of insight about Caleb's own struggle because of this choice of story telling. I also felt that despite the topic, the story is quite fluffy.
