Bu kitap için tamamen heyecanlandım çünkü insanların gerçekten sevdikleri diğer kitaplarla ilgili kitap okumayı seviyorum. (Bu inceleme için topal bir giriş için nasıl?) Kitabın yazarların en sevdiği okumaları ortaya koyması onu daha cazip hale getirdi. Ancak, okuduğum kadar iyi okuduğumda (ya da kendimi düşündüğümden) bu koleksiyondaki yazarların çoğunu duymadım ya da seçtikleri kitapların çoğunu duymadım. Salinger, Rand veya Lee hakkında 71 makale okumayı beklediğimden değil, ama yine de. Ben biraz hayal kırıklığına uğradım ve dürüst olmak gerekirse, hatta biraz sıkıldım.

I didn't finish the book, but what I did read, I enjoyed. This book gives a great insight into the lives of the teachers who are in the trenches of public education in programs like Teach For America. And it tells the truth, it's not all good times, there are some bad times, times when teachers want to quit, but it's inspiring because these teachers know that there is a job to be done to educate our children.

Trouble follows when the Wintersmith, the god of winter, falls in love with 13-year-old Tiffany Aching. I usually LOVE Tiffany Aching stories, but this one not so much. Tiffany is getting a bit too big for her britches (if you will excuse the expression), I think. And the author obviously thinks highly of witches, and... since these are all fictional characters in a FICTIONAL world, and none of the witches are so much practicing "witchcraft" as we know it, that really shouldn't bother me, but it does anyway. I don't know. I tried to like this book, I really honestly did, but I mostly finished it out of a sense of duty to the series, and out of guilt, because my brothers got me the book for Christmas.
