An interesting book, but it was more about the 2006 Senate "freshman class" than it was about how the US Senate actually works.

This is a short prequel to the Night Children Series. It's a fun way to introduce kids to history. Scott intertwines his monster events with real historic events. Vampires, witches, and an assortment of monsters add interest to the story. I'm looking forward to reading the series with my kids.

I heard about this book SO MANY TIMES and how great it was and how I had to read it. So then I did, even though I read the description and was all, "The circus? Uhhh..." And I liked it. It was an easy entertaining read, I was not completely invested in the characters but that was ok. August was delightfully hateful. So it was a good book. Was it the best book ever and i can't believe I didn't read it before? No. Oh well. Time Traveler's WIfe is on that list too so we shall see if popular recs do work out other than Harry Potter.
