** spoiler alert ** I loved this. A lot. Priscilla was completely evil, and I can't say I was happy that Rosalind was the one playing the tricks on Madelyn. I would have slapped her face XD I loved Madelyn in every aspect. She wouldn't let anyone push her around and she told it straight. Gabriel was just...wow. Plus I loved the whole 'I can't stay away' thing that was happening XD Very, very enjoyable, and highly recommended. I'm a little wary about Rothbury, but I still can't wait to read the next book in the series. 5/5

I found most of the story interesting, as long as there was some dialogue between the characters. Around halfway through the novel, there is a lengthy section devoted to describing solely the workings of the government(The Party that is), which I lost almost all interest in. Along with the description of the partys workings, there is also a section set to describe "New Speak", which I found surprisingly amusing. Orwell had obviously put alot of thought into the new and refined language. It had been designed for the sole purpose of eliminating the thought of, and eventually the means of expressing any oppositions to the party. Overall I enjoyed the book, because of the depth of the characters, as well as how Orwell developed the relationship between Wilson and Jennifer (except for the part where wilson was imagining raping/ killing her cause that was just creepy).
