Oh my gosh, this was so much fun! If you are a fan of Felicia Day's web-based series "The Guild" you will love this. It's the prequel, in comic book form, showing how the "Knights of Good" banded together. I really enjoyed the interplay between Cyd/Codex's online and off-line worlds (the sessions with her therapist are hilarious and spot on.) The art is gorgeous and the dialogue as witty as you would expect from its creator (and which I imagined so vividly in the actors' voices.) I hope there will be another novel in the works because this medium is such a perfect accompaniment to the series.

I hoped for better, since the first book was so interesting. There is little of Iran, in comparison. While obviously the normal trials of adolescence and immigration are to be expected and condoled with, I could do with less vulgar language and detailed promiscuity. That said, I still appreciate the intelligent analysis of Iran with the problems and hypocrisy inherent in fundamentalist rule.
