Ray himself seems like an interesting character and certainly added a lot of the world of popular music in the 1950's, all the while working with a huge handicap, he was mostly deaf in one ear. A botched operation to fix that left him almost as deaf in his other ear and still he managed to perform, write songs and record music. Mostly a forgotten singer now he was an influence on Elvis Presley as well as other big stars of the Rock 'n Roll movement.
