I thought this was going to be a predictable formulaic sisters-in-a-big-family kind of thing, and it totally wasn't. In the end, it was about secrets and lies in families and how they affect family dynamics - and also about motherhood and mothering. I really liked all the characters, the switching perspectives work very smoothly, and it has a great cast of characters. I didn't like all of the ending (chiefly, some of Gabriel's actions and Maggie's utter failure to pick up on the totally obvious DUH! moments). I will definitely read more from this author!
