Vonnegut was an angry old man when he wrote this book. For all his intellect, his advocacy of horrid socialist programs in the spirit of egalitarianism("the road to hell is paved with the best intentions")is simplistic and nauseating, and paints a vivid picture of an impatient old man who is disappointed with the state of things near the end of his life. Vonnegut is well aware that it's coming soon, and that makes the book interesting to say the least. That said, it's brutally honest and laced with his signature wit. The short poems at the beginning of every chapter are hilarious, and his musings on things like primitive society and semicolons almost made me pee in my pants. Read it.

One of my favorites! Very raw and honest account of a life in Rhodesia. The more I thought about this book, the more I liked it.
