Not unlike Harris' other books - so descriptive and sensual. Themes of being haunted by secrets, and desperately trying to be left alone. Wonderful.

With a backdrop of Nazi domination in Europe, two men create a comic book with filled with struggles against oppression and escapes from reality that is paled by the adventure of their own lives. I got to meet Chabon at the comic con and attributed the wrong book to him. He was very gracious, though he wouldn't sign the library copy of this book which I was carrying. Instead he gave me a remake comic of the hero from this book.
