Again, I've enjoyed this series. They are fun books. Though, the concept about the main character never knowing how to control her shopping habits, does start to get to the point where you think, "Seriously, you're going to go down the same path of debt again?!" Though, overall, the series is fun. I'm going to go ahead and read the last one just to complete the series.

I love a fast read! I thoroughly enjoyed this book! if you are even the tiniest bit a Francophile then I would put this on your must read list. Delightfully written in such a way you very much get a feel for each and every month & season in Provence, I might add that I was hungry throughout reading this, the food descriptions are well, mouth watering. To Provence & Peter Mayle!

depends on the translation, but it's like no other autobiog. about this kid growing up in Russia a maybe 100 years ago. He's always suffering but finds solace in a few good souls like his grandmother, and birds, stories. it took me to the place. my favorite!

Norman Davies wrote the definitive history of Poland, "God's Playground" in the early 1980s. A true masterpiece, the only problem was that it's just too darn long for many people to read or (one suspects) buy. Enter "Heart of Europe", a history of Poland that one doesn't need flatbed truck to carry around. Rather than merely summarizing "God's Playground", however, Professor Davies adds an additional conceit. Whereas "God's Playground" (as many histories) went, roughly speaking, in chronological order, "Heart of Europe" is the history of Poland starting in the late twentieth century (after Jaruzelski's imposition of martial law), and told backwards. Why told backwards? Tough to say really. Go figure, though, it works.
