How I made it to the age of 32 without reading this darling little gem of a novel, I'll never know. My mom (who is 62, by the way) read it recently and insisted that I read it as well. I'm awfully glad I did. It was such a pleasure to meet Anne, and to be inspired by her innocence and unbelievable imagination. I also enjoyed the simplicity of the time represented in the novel. My favorite character (besides Anne, of course) was Matthew. What a kind and loving guy he was. I did get sort of sad near the end of the novel, when Anne was slowly but surely growing up. You can't help but want her to stay young and carefree forever.
A really amazing book that is super insightful, has tons of amazing facts, and gives good guidence while forcing you to re-examine preconcieved notions and the nature of "reality" in general. Dont be put off by the "Self-help" feel the back cover of the book has, it is much more of a philosophy/psychology book.
