Well written, emotionally draining, and intriguing. I finished Never a Gentleman fairly quickly, drawn along by characters I was familiar with from Barely a Lady. ED writes so well that you completely understood Grace's choices even if you don't agree with them and that's the whole point. Not many women out there would appreciate a man cheating on them and still love them with all their heart. It's probably just me but when you're old and married, nothing surprises you. Living in those times, I'd probably do the same thing and essentially it's nothing more than a sister wife does every day. Btw, I'm not, but in theory. Don't forget, in true romantic fashion, everything would have been settled quickly if Diccan had confided in his wife so, of course, this doesn't happen and we get taken on this wonderfully plotted story of love and intrigue. Oh wait, Grace should have been honest, too, of course, but would it have helped? Maybe, maybe not. An excellent story! I'm looking forward to the next in the series but I can't figure out how ED is going to make a husband any worse/wonderful than Diccan and still redeem him... Has anyone seen Kate?
