Not perfect, but well-done nevertheless. Quite a few quote-worthy lines.

I read this book right after I read Out of Africa and really preferred Markhams book. I thought it was so well written and the stories were so exciting. I was intrigued by the lives of both Markham and Karen Blixen (Out of Africa) that I did a little research after I finished the book. I was extremely disappointed by what I read about Markham. I will not disclose what I discovered (perhaps it is common knowledge), in the event that it should discourage prospective readers.

This is one of my favorite books of all time.
