This is a must read in our day of unspeakable injustices - you won't want to put it down!
Read it again, having originally stumbled across it in middle school. This (and more so the rest of the series) has a surprising amount of philosophical depth. I'd recommend reading the version with Card's introduction, as it helped me notice more depth than I might have otherwise.
A great anthropological study of nature vs nurture. Another reason to hate the arrogance of Western Medicine. About a boy who loses his penis through a botched circumcision, and the doctor who convinces the family to let him use the child as a lab rat by raising him as a girl.
I got a bit bored with this one- though I think it was well written but talked up too much- I had high expectations of it.
