I really liked this book, but I like reading just about anything that has to do with Africa. It was kind of an easy read because it's mostly just random stories about her time in Africa. I loved how strong and independent she was. I followed this with West with the Night, which made it interesting because they knew so many of the same people but never really mention each other.

Great book for YA. I really enjoyed the flow of this book, and I developed a real interest in the characters and worried about their futures.

This is interesting but... I'm about two-thirds through it and I'm done. Nothing against the research or the material, but how many times can I read about Dahl writing a snotty letter to Charles Marsh about something that somebody said at a cocktail party about Henry Wallace? Or whatever.
