The first story here is still one of my favorites by Laurenston. It was also my introduction to her and she hasn't disappointed me.

Yes, the book is about Morgan, but it's really about Wilfred, our narrarator, who starts off the book as a self-described "mother's boy", directionless and hating his life. Morgan turns his life around completely. The book features some gorgeous poetry and ritual centered around the Great Goddess Isis. I had to keep reminding myself this book was written in the 1930's because so much of it has influenced contemporary writing on Magick, Witchcraft, and the Occult!

3.5-4 stars. This is a novel where what you see is what you get. While being a enjoyable read and well written, it holds no real surprises following a fairly predictable path all the way to its conclusion. I'm hesitant to give a full 4 stars simply due to its predictable nature. If you're after a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat story, then you won't find it here. On the other hand, if you're after a novel that will keep you happily entertained for a few hours after a tiring, stressful week, then this novel is definitely worth a look.

A good friend gave this to me, and I read it immediately. It made me cry, and laugh, and want to share it with others. I absolutely loved it!

I read this book with Noah and we are both really enjoying the series. We couldn't wait to begin the next book!
