If you want literature, read the King James. If you want poetry, read the King James. If you want inspiration, read the King James. If you want clarity, read the Good News Bible. About twenty years ago, for several reasons, I decided I needed to read the Bible in its entirety. The Good News Bible is ideal for such a goal. Its subtitle is "The Bible in Today's English Version", and that's exactly what it is. Translation difficulties and ambiguities in the source texts are frankly acknowledged. Footnotes are plentiful and extremely helpful without being cumbersome.

This was not my favorite version of this tale, but it was still cute. The poor prince was a bit of a bumbler, but I guess that was to make him more human. I also think the author should have made them older. 12 and 13 is a little young for this to be a believable romance--at least for me.
