I had a hard time rating this book. I loved the beginning and the end, but the middle dragged on so much that I couldn't give this better than 2 stars. I think this would have worked better as a short story than a novel. The beginning was gripping, and the ending was chilling.

My students told me that this book wasn't as good as the first, but I totally disagree. I thought the past history of the coven was needed. Truly the reader learns the depth of despair Edward feels upon what he thinks is Bella's death. The Jacob twist is frighteningly good. I liked this one as much as the first.
