I have to disagree with Nate on this one. The characters were utterly compelling simply because there was nothing terribly special about any of them. They were all real people, dealing with real problems, and I was able to relate every single one of them to at least one person in my life. While it might be said that this could be a particular quirk of the people in my life, I enjoyed this book so much I've begun passing on to friends- all of whom, so far, agree with my assessment on the universality of the characters. I really liked this series, it was a lot of fun to read and I'm going to keep on reading it since it only gets better and better. My favourite character must be Bones, it's pretty obvious that Spike from Buffy the Vampire slayer has been a great influense of this character. It was actually one of the reasons I began to read these books in the first place. The series does remind me a little of Buffy, and I think there's a little bit of Stephanie Meyers twilight in there also. Bones is to me a really good and sexy blend of Edward and Spike :) With a twist. Anyways, about the books. I liked them, a lot. It isn't the best I've read, but I find it really good and entertaining. I like Cat, although she can get a little bothersome at times. In the first couple of books, she can be pretty annoying, but later on, she gets to be really cool. Can't wait to read the next installment :)
