This is a book that was in my house that I read. First, I didn't really like the book. But as I read on, it was fun. Comedy, Sad, Simple. I did cry after finishing this book :'(

I consulted this book when it first came out last year. As I read and paged through the work, I realized the principle reason I found it exciting had nothing to do with fishing. The author, Tom Cross, spent a summer in 2006 living and sleeping out of his truck, camping in state parks, spending time with friends, and sharing meals with total strangers. There was one goal in mind: to visit and write about every public fishing area across the Buckeye State. Very cool. I have a particular desire to complete a similar journey. Just modest camping equipment, laptop, and fly rod. Get back to basic and discover the natural beauty of living. As he mentioned, he wrote the book on his laptop, sitting on the tailgate of his pickup truck. How freaking awesome is that!!! The whole entire vagabond experience right here in the Buckeye State -- albeit a shorter duration than the most serious eco bum. Cross offers some good information on the diverse fishing opportunities available in Ohio. Of course, the best fishing is usually under tight lips and generally off the beaten path. He did a nice job, though I have my personal opinions on some of the areas he describes...
