An interesting book about blacks in the south owning slaves.

There's so much to Melville's work, and much more than "Bartleby" or Billy Budd or Moby Dick, amazing as those works are. This book includes stories "The Piazza," "The Encantadas," "The Bell-Tower," "The Paradise of Bachelors and the Tartarus of Maids," and the lesser known, somewhat controversial novella Benito Cereno. His style may be archaic and a schoolboy or schoolgirl's nightmare, but his work is timeless and foreshadowed much great fiction of the 20th century.
