I really liked this unique story. It reads like a dark fairy tale and is both incredibly imaginative and very entertaining. There were some pretty strange and creepy scenes that added a bizarreness to the story that I thought played in really well. It was those scenes that took the fairy tale theme to a slightly more twisted than normal realm. It worked great! About halfway through, I did find myself a bit disappointed in that I wasn't feeling a real emotional connection to the story. I really crave stories that make me "feel" something and I thought that emotional element was lacking here. But by the end of the story, I'm happy to report that I was definitely emotionally involved and even shed a tear or two at the end. Speaking of the ending, it was fantastic! I was so happy with how everything played out and wrapped up. It was perfect!
