I actually rate this book between 4 and 5 stars but for reasons hard to explain. Although "I loved this book" and "it was amazing" somewhat accurately describe my overall feeling toward it, I wouldn't say it was an enjoyable read (seriously, could you please come up with one more way to describe dark, dreary, desolate, and desperate?) It was when I finished the book and let it digest and settle for a bit that I could fully appreciate it, but I admit there were times while reading that I thought I could put it down and walk away from it... simply because I am a big fat wienie. And I thought some of the vocab seemed show-off-y. We get it, Cormac... you're a human thesaurus.
