I really wanted to like White Teeth more than I did. There is a lot of great writing in this novel, and it's filled with the humorous culture clashes that make the modern British empire. In the end though I didn't connect with these characters or have a sense of where they might be going. With so many co-existing narratives that I found more broad than deep I found it hard to stay engrossed in this book.

A heartbreaking and inspiring peek into the lives of the Lost Boys of the Sudan. Dave Eggers is a phenomenal writer (if you've never read his memoir, A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius, pick it up). I couldnt put this one down. Just amazing...
