This book wasn't as good as the first in the series, but it was still an enjoyable read. I think I wasn't as enthralled because the set-up was no longer new and interesting - even though the main characters were different their basic natures were the same (since they were representatives of the same races), so the story lost some of the novelty that I experienced reading the first one. I also thought it ended too quickly and wasn't a huge fan of the major conflict's resolution, but perhaps more answers will be forthcoming in future novels. I'm certainly planning to read the rest of the series.
