This book introduced me to one of my favorite authors. She writes the mojority of her books about children she dealt with as a teacher. Special needs children with Psychological problems. This book also taught me about selective mutism. It is when one knows how to speak, but chooses to be mute. This book tells the story of the little girl that Hayden guides out of a silent world. Awesome book from an amazing author!
