I like the way Lynch writes, his turn of phrase, the way he puts words together. For example, "He took in the buttery ease of sunlight to the east,..." "The barn door swung, and a shaft of daylight pulled Sophie Winsow in with it." This is a story about disfunction. Disfunctional families, people, relationships, pets, you name it it's in this book and it's disfunctional. There is also wry humor in it. The main character is severely dyslexic and works for the border patrol on the Canadian, Washington border. There's drug smuggling, immigration issues and the 7ft. dyslexic hero stumbles into the middle of everything. It was too much, too jittery for me. One or two issues would have worked better for me.
