I adore this book. Kate DiCamillo can do no wrong, in my eyes.

A very heartfelt, in-depth memoir of the history of the Mets so far, as experienced by the author. It's a great read for diehard fans, especially fans who are recent fellow-sufferers and would like to know more about their beloved, scrappy team's history. I had some trouble with the writing style; at some points it could be very contrived. For example, he tends to overuse his favorite device of starting every sentence with the same phrase. Used sparingly, it's a powerful device, but overused, it can get sort of overbearing. Despite that, his passion comes through loud and clear and makes you feel like your own diehard craziness is just plain normal.
