I really liked the idea of the play within the story and the fact that Dorothy and DuBose Heywood were real people. It was fun & interesting to google them and see how close the book followed their lives. I really enjoyed that part of the book. I did think the setting for the move to Charleston was a little over the top; i know she needed a reason to move the main character, but..........really. (that's why only 3 stars) "Cate never thought she'd wind up in this tiny cottage named the Porgy House on this breathtakingly lovely strip of coast. But circumstances have changed, thanks to her newly dead husband whose financial—and emotional—bull and mendacity have left Cate homeless, broke, and unmoored. An artist, writer, and colleague of the revered George Gershwin, Dorothy Heyward enjoyed the greatest moments of her life at Folly with her beloved husband, DuBose.
