Possible my new favorite book. The mystical realisim of Gabriel Garcia Marquez with an American story all her own. I can't wait to read Ms. Groff's next book.

An amazing read for the story alone, if not always for the prose. There are times when Ralston lets the story tell itself, quite successfully, but others when he gets too wordy for his own good. In spite of the occasional rocky passage, this is a terrific book. Terrifying, heartrending, evocative.
