At times I was confused regarding the genre of this book. It is a work of fiction, yet reads like a memoir. The stories are powerful in their simplistic complexity. They take the reader to another place and time and allow you to feel the pain, sorrow and depth of understanding soldiers fighting in Vietnam had with one another.
