The backstory is 4 stars, but the plot is only 2 stars. I love historical fiction and appreciated the history on The Blitz and America's oblivious attitude to what was happening before they entered WWII. However, the story lines had so much potential and all 3 of them flopped at the very end. The prologue sets us up to think a postmaster withheld mail from its recipients and knew secrets that were never revealed to the intended recipient. That barely happened. And, I had high hopes for Frankie, thinking this female journalist was going to make a difference. But instead she freaks out and gives up. Despite my criticism, it was a super quick read and I enjoyed what was happening in the background.
