Awesome beyond belief. An antidote to people who equate all things German with fascism and authoritarianism. These folks were concerned with changing the world through aesthetic and generally interesting eclectic philosophy.

A murder mystery involving complicated relationships between friends, children and spouses. That the main suspect suffered from dementia aded an interesting layer to the story. I would have appreciated more background on the woman who was murdered, as she was portrayed as a sneaky, jealous woman.

This was really interesting. i've never read about Mexico. That this family's story spanned generations was great b/c it gave me a sense of overall Mexico during the times. I loved that it had fantastical elements as well as historical. The setting and family were both really well developed in this story.
