A good introduction to Butler which I, of course, read out of sequence having already read the "Parable" novels. The title story is amazing as is the last story in the anthology. I won't spoil any plot points, but will state that she continues to mine the areas of human meaning and religious identity with amazing ease. Several stories explore the notion of how humanity might interact with non-humanoid life forms, which is always worth thinking about.
The Strachey version of this book is great. A. A. Brill misses a lot of Freud's humor.
