though there's been lots of discussion around this last novel of Lawrence, especially in England, I believe this is a begining of a new era in wrtting open and more intimate rather than being politicaly correct. I truely appreciate the courage and dare which is behind this piece. این رمان که در زمان خود جنجال بسیاری از اخلاق گرایان و مذهبیون را برانگیخت، سال ها در انگلستان اجازه ی چاپ نداشت و در انتها هم با رای دادگاهی که به مدت طولانی علیه ناشر و نویسنده به عنوان "اشاعه ی فحشاء" تشکیل شده بود، اجازه ی چاپ یافت. خواندن این رمان اگر هنوز هم در ایران یافت شود، به ویژه برای آقایان غنیمتی ست. کتاب نه چندان پس از انتشارش در انگلستان با نام "عاشق لیدی چاترلی" به فارسی برگردانده شد و تا مدتی هم در دسترس بود. تا آنجا که به یادم مانده یک بار هم با نام "فاسق خانم چاترلی" ترجمه شده است که نه نام مترجم و نه نام انتشاراتی آن به یادم مانده است. این آخرین اثر لارنس و البته مشهورترین کار اوست که آخرین نسخه ی تصحیح شده اش چندی پیش از مرگ زودرس نویسنده پایان یافت.

It took me about two years to read this book, as I really could not get into the war bits (typical of me) and would move on to something else for a period. Overall I enjoyed the book, though I found it confusing how Tolstey keeps on referring to the characters by different names (each one seems to have five). I also did not like the end of the book, where the otherwise romantic characters get old and fat and have obnoxious children.
