Müthiş roman, Hornby en iyi iç monologlar dönemi yazıyor.

Bu üçlemenin harika bir sonu; Bu yazarın daha fazlasını okumak için sabırsızlanıyorum.

I got a galley of this from the publisher even though I'm not a bookseller or librarian--I said I'd share it and tell people about it. :) I liked it a lot and read it very quickly. I can see it being done as a movie. The character is likeable and the pacing is good, I thought. I liked the jacket design too! http://www.randomhouse.com/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780345502483

Oral history ranging from ESPN's beginnings in Bristol to the now-infamous Decision. Good read if you watched a lot of ESPN in the 90s and are familiar with the personalities, but I'd imagine this would be pretty boring if you didn't. Luckily for me, I watched Sportscenter before going to school every day in middle and high school. The value of the book comes from the surprising amount of access they got to ESPN's seemingly never-ending supply of hilariously egotistical white dudes (Berman, Olbermann, Kilborn, et al). While some of the book slips into the cadence of "remember the time I did this at ESPN? That was awesome", reading that mild-mannered Bob Ley wanted to punch Keith Olbermann in the stomach makes it all worth it. The thinking that went into the launch of ESPN2 is also pretty fascinating. My two main complaints: too much time spent on the founding of the company, and a strange emphasis on the ESPN magazine over the website, which is given pretty short shrift (despite its outsized influence compared to the mag).

I gave it 3 stars because it was easy to guess the outcome of the story lien. However, I enjoyed it because it was a quick read with a spiritual tone as well as a mystery/romance but not my usual genre in reads.
