** spoiler alert ** I want to start off by saying that this is the shortest autobiography I’ve ever read, but it was still great though. The way her family held on to secrets reminds me of my own and I’m just like her in a way, with how she pretty much knew the gist of the quietness and how that was all she needed to know to realize that she will not be going down the same road…umm, I didn’t like how she didn’t think she was pretty even if she was told once or twice that she wasn’t. To me it makes it that much worse if a person accepts themselves as anything negative like that, from the pictures though, she was pretty to me. But anyway, GOSH! What is up with men and little girls?...ugh, see more reasons to hate them, always about sex, the buffoons’, they don’t even care how much they can screw a girl up with that ish, it was sad that she got done for at only 3 years of age, then got accused of lying by her aunt, smh, but that’s life for some people. I’m just grateful I wasn’t born during those years, because the women… at least those of her family were so dependent on men that when the men left them they had trouble going on living, like pieces of them died because the men left them. Oh and family members up and disappearing just to get away from whoever had broken their heart, trapped them or just so they can get a new start was just crazy to me. Also, the one big shocker of the whole story…I mean when I was browsing through the book I saw the photo of the random lady sitting in front of a bare chested girl but I didn’t think nothing of it, now that I think about it, she never really gave a reason why it was there, like she did some of the other photos at least none that I can remember. All that time I was reading through her normally, but all the while she was a lesbian, but it was too late to change my mind set with only 20 pages to left, lol, so I feel a bit cheated, lbs. Oh yeah, I was very uneasy with her use of affection, when she was trying to cajole that one chick, it wasn’t even for me but I wanted to run and hide from all that feeling…yep, that’s how sincere she was…also, am I the only who noticed the seriously lacking of details when she mentioned that she got pregnant with her son, I wanted to know how she went about doing that. Overall, the autobiography was short, I mean a done reading within 2 hours short, which obviously meant it wasn’t the whole story but good and interesting, so that’s all that matters

Sweet story, not well-written.

A critical analysis of Senator Edward Kennedy's political career, leading up to and following the death of Mary Jo Kopechne on Chappaquiddick Island in 1969. From the very introduction of this book, it is obvious that Sherrill is not an admirer of the Kennedy clan. Sherrill details the activities of politicians and local officials of Dukes County, Massachusetts, following the accident in which Kopechne died in Kennedy's car following a party on the island. From the facts presented, it would appear that the local law enforcement officials acted neglegently in investigating the discrepencies between available evidence and accounts told by Kennedy and his fellow partiers. Of particular interest to me was the fact that my vague recollection of the details seems not to have been because of my memory failure over time, but more because there were so many questions that were never resolved at that time. This book came to my reading list via the bibliography of The Kennedys by Joseph Alsop and Robert Kintner.
