This book is hard one for me to review. On one hand I found it too be quite drawn out in places and boring. Richard was very whinny and irritating most of the time. Towards the end I found myself skimming the pages trying to get through it faster. But it wasn't the worst book I've ever read.

This is perhaps my favorite all time book. About a man who became blind when he was eight years old, he becomes a key organizer in the French resistance to the Nazis in Paris. It describes what it was like to become, and to be, blind, as well as all the details of the resistance movement that he was part of. Well worth it!

Need some more time to write a review...but this is most likely my favourite book. Murakami is amazing. Surreal, fantastical. Hard work - but SO refreshing!
