It took me awhile to get into the book but once I did I was hooked. I'll admit at times I felt the story dragged on but I had to keep turning the pages to find the mysteries and secrets revealed. At the end my first thought was how tragic it all was and I was sad for the Blythe sisters and most all of those involved in the story. I still feel a bit this way, often times a book can have a sad ending but you feel as if there was a lesson learned, something to be gained from the experience but this left me more with the feeling that it was all so pointless, unneccesary that their lives could have been so different had they been able to be more open with one another. It may sound as if I didn't like the book but I did enjoy it and am glad to have read it. This was my first foray into Kate Morton and I look forward to exlporing more of her novels.
