I read this book on the "recommendation" of my book-a-day calendar. I found it disturbing on many fronts, but was quickly engaged in the story and eventually found it hard to put down. The beginning of the book takes place in NYC in the 1970s and covers some of the same "scene" that Patti Smith writes about in Just Kids, so it was interesting to read another take on that. However, the bulk of the book is set in rural, coastal Maine. The book has sex, drugs, rock and roll and horror so I would not recommend it to the faint of heart.
