Disappointing book. Honestly, I think this book would appeal to a fairly narrow audience--preteen boys who are interested in law. And even they might be bored by the amount of description and detail that Grisham includes. I will recommend this book to boys who are reading so fast they have gone through all the books that have appropriate subject matter (according to them or according to their parents)--for fast readers, this book will hold some interest and the subject matter is interesting and complex but still very appropriate for preteens. I will not recommend it to reluctant readers. I was especially disappointed in the ending--there was almost no closure, and it looks like the 2nd one in the series doesn't even pick up on the case from this book. (update Aug 2012: I have talked to one boy who enjoyed a Theo Boone book, but he thought it was the Abduction one, and he did fit into the category described in the 2nd paragraph above.)
